Key Dates
- Abstract submission deadline: Monday, January 26, 2026, 23:59 PSDT.
- Acceptance notification to the submitting author via email: Week of February 16, 2026
- Presenting Author Registration Deadline: Wednesday, February 25, 2026
- Electronic version of Poster submission deadline (applies to all accepted abstracts): Wednesday, March 18, 2026
Presenting Author Registration
The presenting author of an accepted abstract MUST register for the Conference by Wednesday, February 25, 2026, or the abstract will automatically be withdrawn. The submitting author is responsible for notifying the presenting author of the registration deadline.
Publication
All accepted abstracts will be published (online only) in a supplement of the Journal of Oncology Pharmacy Practice (JOPP) in 2026 (issue # TBD), provided the presenting author registers for the Conference by Wednesday, February 25, 2026. By submitting an abstract, you consent to the publication of this abstract in JOPP and on the CAPhO website.
Conflict of Interest Disclosure, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use and Sponsor Information
During the abstract submission process, you will be asked to disclose any conflicts of interest and indicate whether artificial intelligence (AI) tools were used in developing your abstract. If applicable, please also provide the name and contact information (including phone and email) of the abstract sponsor.
Author Information
The following author information is required:
- Name, contact information and affiliation of submitting author
- Name, contact information and affiliation of any co-authors, including presenting author
Presentation Types
The following two presentation types are available:
- New Poster (poster that has not been displayed before)
- Encore Poster (poster that has been presented elsewhere)
Only new posters submitted by CAPhO members are considered for the CAPhO Poster Awards. Encore posters are not considered for judging, however, may be presented to provide exposure to a new audience.
Title and Content
The abstract title must be less than 200 characters. Please use title case e.g. Upper and Lower Case and NOT UPPER CASE.
The submission system will prompt you to follow the following abstract format:
- Introduction / Objectives
- Study Design / Methods
- Results / Key Findings
- Discussion
- Conclusion / Recommendations
- References (include up to 5, if applicable)
- Sources of Funding
Note: Abstracts must describe completed research or project work (i.e. contain results and conclusions) and can include up to 5 references.
Submission Categories
The following four submission categories are available:
- Administration: Staff training programs, pharmacoeconomics, drug preparation and delivery, projects that address compliance to provincial regulatory standards or national best practice guidelines
- Pharmacy practice (non-research based): Descriptions of innovative patient care programs, drug utilization evaluations/drug management programs, quality assurance projects
- Research - Clinical: Evaluation of pharmacist interventions, clinical qualitative studies, meta-analyses or scoping reviews on clinical topics
- Research - Non-clinical: Original research on drug stability, pharmacokinetic studies, pharmacodynamics studies including incidence of adverse reactions, pharmacogenomics projects, patient attitude or behavioral studies, education projects
Abstract Length
The maximum length of an abstract is 500 words.
Abbreviations
The use of standard abbreviations is desirable.
Language
Abstracts and posters are accepted in either English or French.
Number of Submissions
An individual may submit up to two abstracts as primary author. There is no limit on the number of abstracts that an individual can co-author.
