CAPhO – CIHR-ICR Joint Research Awards

The Canadian Association of Pharmacy in Oncology (CAPhO) and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research – Institute of Cancer Research (CIHR-ICR) have partnered to recognize research contributions that advance oncology pharmacy practice in Canada. Through this collaboration, CAPhO and CIHR-ICR jointly present two annual awards that recognize researchers whose work advances oncology pharmacy practice and improves care for people affected by cancer.

The following two joint awards are available:

CAPhO – CIHR-ICR Research Impact Joint Research Award

The CAPhO – CIHR-ICR Research Impact Award recognizes an individual who has made outstanding research contributions and demonstrated significant impact on oncology pharmacy practice. One Research Impact Award is available per year. The Award is presented annually and consists of a $1,500 award prize funded by the CIHR Institute of Cancer Research (CIHR-ICR) and a CAPhO Travel Grant of up to $2,000 to support attendance at the CAPhO Annual Conference. For the 2027 recipient, the travel grant will be to attend CAPhO Conference 2027.

CAPhO – CIHR-ICR Early Career Researcher Joint Research Award

The CAPhO – CIHR-ICR Early Career Researcher Award recognizes a researcher in the early stages of their career who has made significant research contributions to oncology pharmacy practice. One Early Career Researcher Award is available per year. The Award is presented annually and consists of a $1,500 award prize funded by the CIHR Institute of Cancer Research (CIHR-ICR) and a CAPhO Travel Grant of up to $2,000 to support attendance at the CAPhO Annual Conference. For the 2027 recipient, the travel grant will be to attend CAPhO Conference 2027.
