CAPhO Conference 2020 Welcome Message
On behalf of the 2020 Planning Committee, I invite you to attend the Canadian Association of Pharmacy in Oncology (CAPhO) Conference from April 2-5, 2020 in Toronto, Ontario.
The exciting and vibrant city of Toronto will be your home for the weekend! We are fortunate to have a wonderful landmark venue with spectacular views of Lake Ontario in the heart of downtown Toronto. Framed by the city’s skyscrapers in the revived waterfront area, The Westin Harbour Castle Hotel is located steps from the Downtown Core. We invite you discover Toronto’s underground walkway and top attractions located nearby. Take a stroll through charming neighborhoods such as the theatre, entertainment or historic distillery districts, or take in a view of the city from atop the CN Tower. Step outside between conference sessions to experience the energy of the harbour with a walk along the waterfront where you will find a mix of parks, shopping, dining, entertainment, art and culture.
The year 2020 marks the 32nd anniversary of CAPHO’s conference, a tremendous milestone for oncology pharmacy practice in Canada. Over the past 32 years we have worked to build a culture of safety and this continues to be vitally important. The Conference (#CAPhOCon20) theme will emphasize practical strategies participants can use to keep our patients and teams “safe”. The goal to deliver quality care that results in better health, and safe, effective outcomes for patients is at the heart of our work. Equally important is the goal to provide safe working environments for those tasked with delivering this care. The theme of safety theme will be woven in through a variety of engaging educational keynotes, presentations, and small group discussions where experience, expertise and insights will be shared amongst peers. The conference will provide a wonderful opportunity to network with your colleagues across Canada and develop new connections and friendships.
We look forward to having you join us in Toronto where we will continue to “Drive Safety Forward!”
