Flay Charbonneau, RPh, BSc (Pharm), is Manager at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre – Odette Cancer Centre Pharmacy and has more than 30 years’ experience in Canadian hospital pharmacy practice.  As Pharmacy Manager, she is responsible for all pharmacy operations at the centre which include sterile product preparation, ambulatory oncology pharmacy activities, retail pharmacy and support for clinical trials.  Flay has a strong interest in quality improvement initiatives, especially those that relate to implementation of technology. She is an active member of CAPhO (Canadian Association of Pharmacy in Oncology), serving on the CAPhO Conference planning committee for over 15 years, is a founding member of a local oncology pharmacy network, OPTRA, and a member of CSHP and ISOPP.  She also is a member of the Cancer Clinical Trials Group Audit and Monitoring Committee.

Flay Charbonneau obtained her BSc (Pharm) degree from the University of Alberta and completed a Hospital Pharmacy Residency at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

In one hour, Flay Charbonneau will:    

•    Describe the current state of licensed biosimilars for oncology in Canada;
•    Discuss the pharmacy operational issues associated with implementation of a biosimilar;
•    Review concerns of patients regarding biosimilars; and
•    Identify educational resources regarding biosimilars in oncology.
