Presenter Biographies

Bianca Au, BSc. (Pharm), ACPR, Cross Cancer Institute, Edmonton, AB

Bianca Au is a pharmacist at the Cross Cancer Institute (CCI) in Edmonton, Alberta. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree at the University of Alberta in
2015 and went on to complete a one year residency program with a focus in oncology. Since completing her residency program, she has worked in several clinical areas at the CCI including the tobacco cessation program, neuro oncology, bone marrow transplant, acute care inpatient units, and her primary area of practice now resides in the breast cancer tumor group.

Kyla Bailey, BSP, Tom Baker Cancer Centre, Calgary, AB

Kyla graduated from University of Saskatchewan in 2003 and currently works for Alberta Health Services at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre as a clinical hematology/BMT pharmacist. She has practiced in many diverse settings, including community, geriatrics, hospital outpatient, and oncology. Since joining the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in 2014, she first developed her oncology clinical skills in the Oral Chemotherapy Management program, before moving into the Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplant clinics.  She obtained her Advanced Prescribing rights in 2014, which allows pharmacist-led supportive care management.  Kyla continues to be involved as a preceptor for the Alberta Health Services Residents and the University of Alberta PharmD students during their hematology rotations.

Tina Crosbie, BSc. (Pharm), ACPR, RPh, The Ottawa Hospital, Ottawa, ON

Tina Crosbie holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Memorial University of Newfoundland and completed her hospital pharmacy residency at The Ottawa Hospital. She has over 25 years’ experience in hospital and retail pharmacy practice in Newfoundland and Ontario.   For the last 20 years Tina has been part of the hematology team at The Ottawa Hospital. Currently, she is the clinical pharmacist for the ambulatory hematology chemo unit. Here she oversees patients with lymphoma, multiple myeloma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia who are receiving care on an outpatient basis.   Tina has written educational materials and has given presentations on numerous topics in hematology. She also enjoys being a peer reviewer for the Canadian Council on Continuing Education in Pharmacy (CCCEP), is the current President of CAPhO and a member of the OFD planning committee. 

Stephanie Lovering, BSc(Hon), BScPharm, PharmD, ACPR, The Ottawa Hospital, Ottawa, ON

Stephanie Lovering received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Post-Baccalaureate Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Toronto. Prior to pharmacy, Stephanie completed a Bachelor of Science degree with a subject of specialization in Life Sciences at Queen’s University at Kingston, Ontario. She completed a Pharmacy Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. She has been practicing in oncology for four years and is currently a clinical pharmacist practicing in inpatient medical oncology at The Ottawa Hospital.

Tom McFarlane, BScPhm PharmD RPh, University of Waterloo / Sunnybrook Health Sciences, Toronto, ON

Tom is currently a Clinical Lecturer and a researcher at the University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy in Kitchener, Ontario, where he created, coordinates, and teaches the oncology portion of the curriculum in the Doctor of Pharmacy program and conducts practice based research.

Glenn Myers, BSc(Pharm), ACPR, Dr. Sheldon H Rubin Oncology Clinic, Moncton, NB

Glenn Myers is a clinical pharmacist in outpatient oncology at the Dr. Sheldon H Rubin Oncology Clinic in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. Glenn completed a BSc (Pharmacy) at Dalhousie University in 2011 and subsequently went on to complete his hospital residency at the Saint John Regional Hospital in Saint John, NB. Glenn has been in oncology for 8 years and focuses on clinical assessment and management of chemotherapy, oral anti-cancer and immune related adverse effects. Glenn enjoys teaching and mentoring various levels of pharmacy learners, providing education to healthcare professionals on anti-cancer therapeutics, and performing practice based research.

Jason Wentzell, BScPharm, RPh, ACPR, BCOP, MHM, Extend Pharmacy, Ottawa, ON

Jason completed his pharmacy degree at Dalhousie University and his Pharmacy Residency at The Ottawa Hospital.  He has practiced as an inpatient Medical Oncology pharmacist for nearly 10 years, from 2010 to 2019 and is a Board-Certified Oncology Pharmacist.  He has earned a Master’s in Health Management in 2019.  Jason is the Founder of and Oncology Pharmacist at Extend Pharmacy, Ottawa’s ambulatory oncology specialty pharmacy. His areas of research interest include integration of pharmacy learners into practice, simulation education, oral anticancer therapy education and key performance indicators for pharmacists.  He is currently involved in several CAPhO initiatives and is a Regional Clinical Coordinator for the University of Waterloo PharmD program in Ottawa.
