Volunteer Opportunity: CAPhO Oncology Competencies Task Force

The CAPhO Oncology Competencies Task Force is seeking volunteers for a new initiative. This opportunity is open to CAPhO members and non members.

Part of CAPhO’s strategic plan is to create an evidence-based inventory of the knowledge, skills and attitudes required for the competent practice of Canadian pharmacists in an oncology-focused practice setting. There is also interest in exploring competencies related to oncology that are required of ALL Canadian pharmacists. As an initial step, CAPhO is looking for volunteers in two capacities:

1. Task Force Committee Member
The Task Force Committee will actively contribute to creating the Task Force deliverables. Committee member responsibilities may include planning strategies to gather information (examples: creating/reviewing surveys and planning focus groups), analyzing data, and contributing to the authorship of documents based on the collected data.

2. Content Support
Content support volunteers will provide input through a variety of strategies (examples: responding to surveys and participating in interviews and/or focus groups) to explore and help clarify the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of pharmacists to be effective and competent practitioners in the oncology setting.

If you are interested in volunteering, please complete this short online survey no later than
February 13, 2020

You will be asked for your contact information, general demographics and also why and how you would like to be involved. As Task Force Chair, I will be reviewing your submission and will contact you with next steps.
