Principles of Oncology Treatments and Pharmaceutical care Online Program

Are you looking to better understand and serve the needs of cancer patients?

The Ontario Pharmacists Association is offering an online certificate program that provides a general overview of the treatment principles of chemotherapy and optimization of treatment, with a focus on oral chemotherapy.

The modules also highlight discussions on some oral treatment regimens seen in practice, including hormonal and targeted cancer therapy. Challenges that pharmacists may encounter, including adverse effects of treatment regimens and storage, labeling, and handling of oral chemotherapeutic agents, will also be reviewed.

The oncology program is designed to support community pharmacists in better understanding and serving the needs of this patient population.
