Are you new to oncology and want to learn more about blood and marrow transplant? Or do you have an interest in gaining more experience this area? Maybe you are looking for more information on CAR-T cell therapy? If so, the BMT 101 workshop is for you! Come join us in-person on Thursday, April 13 from 12:30 – 4:30 pm as we work through three patient cases to learn the basics of CAR-T, autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplant.
Participants will be provided with pre-workshop readings and videos to review in advance. This material will provide a foundational understanding of the stem cell transplant and cellular therapy process. The in-person workshop will then build on this knowledge as facilitators guide you through managing treatment complications with the use of interactive patient cases.
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Describe the different types of cellular therapy used to treat hematologic malignancies
- Identify early and late complications following hematopoietic stem cell transplant
- Describe the role of a pharmacist in caring for patients who have received a stem cell transplant
- Identify drug related problems and develop a supportive care plan for patients undergoing cellular therapy
