Halifax and getting there

About Halifax

Halifax sits in the centre of Nova Scotia’s east coast and is the largest urban area in Atlantic Canada. With a population of 400,000 people, Halifax has something for everyone. Nature lovers will find beaches, gardens and hiking. Urbanites can enjoy a buzzing social climate with live theatre, art galleries, brew pubs and a reputable culinary culture.

Halifax is well know for it’s maritime history and owes it’s existance to the Citadel Hill. This historic site – which you can visit and become a soldier for the day - led the British military to to discover the town in 1749. A wooden guard house on top of what became Citadel Hill was among the the first buildings constructed in Halifax. The fort grew, as did the town, and the people of Halifax dedicated their lives to supplying the soldiers with essential supplies and entertainment.
